Il y a tellement de bons restaurants dans le centre-ville que je brave volontiers le piétonnier pour les découvrir. Il y a une époque où j’évitais le coin mais l’appel du ventre est plus fort que tout. Cette fois-ci, je cherchais avec une amie, un restaurant pour un lunch express. Notre choix s’est arrêté sur l’Intermezzo et pour ceux qui ne savent pas où se garer, le parking de l’Écuyer se situe à 5 minutes à pied.

J’avais lu sur internet qu’il ne fallait pas se fier à la devanture du restaurant et ils avaient bien raison. On a l’impression qu’on va rentrer dans un vieux café mais l’intérieur est bien plus chaleureux. On se retrouve dans un grand espace avec un large bar dans le fond. Il y a de très grandes tables qu’on partage avec d’autres personnes et le menu des pâtes est affiché sur le mur. Ça aurait été plus convivial de mettre plus de menus car on doit se lever pour le consulter quand on est installé un peu plus loin. A table, on reçoit une carte avec les boissons, entrées et autres plats.

On a commencé par une entrée. Il y a un large choix d’antipasti et on a prix une assiette mozzarella et crudités à 6,50 euros. L’assiette était petite mais très généreuse et il y avait une belle variété de crudités. La mozzarella était de qualité et l’assaisonnement était bien équilibrée entre l’acidité et le salé. L’huile d’olive était également très parfumée et il y avait du basilic ciselé pour compléter l’entrée. C’était vraiment savoureux et très frais.

En plat, mon choix s’est porté sur des rigatoni al dragoncello à 12 euros. C’était une sauce crème tomatée à l’estragon et avec des champignons. Les rigatoni étaient évidemment al dente et la sauce sentait délicieusement l’estragon qui était bien présent. La sauce n’était pas du tout écœurante même si elle était gourmande. L’assiette était bien remplie et on était plutôt calée après le plat.

On n’a malheureusement pas eu le temps pour un dessert mais ils ont les grands classiques comme le tiramisu ou la panna cotta.

There are so many good restaurants downtown that I gladly brave the pedestrian neighborhood to discover. There is a time when I avoided the area but the call of the stomach is stronger than everything. This time, I tried with a friend, a restaurant for an express lunch . Our choice was the Intermezzo and for those who do not know where to park, the underground parking Ecuyer is at a 5 minute walk.

I had read on the internet that we should not rely on the front of the restaurant and they were right. One has the impression that are going to an old cafe but the inside is much warmer. We find ourselves in a large space with a big bar at the back of the room. There are very long tables that you share with other people and the pasta menu is on the wall. It would have been easy to put more menus because you have to get up to check it when we are seated a little further. At the table, you get the menu with drinks, appetizers and other dishes.

We began with a starter. There is a wide selection of antipasti and we chose the mozzarella and veggie for 6.50 euros. The plate was small but very generous and there was a nice variety of raw vegetables. The mozzarella was of quality and the seasoning was well balanced between acidity and savoury. The olive oil was also flavorful and there was chopped basil to complete the sarterd. It was really tasty and fresh.

For the dish, my choice fell on the rigatoni al dragoncello for 12 euros. It was a tomato and cream sauce with tarragon and mushrooms. The rigaton were obviously al dente and  the tarragon smelled delicious. The sauce was not at all too sickening and we had quite a big dish. Our stomachs were full and we were firmly seated after the dish.

Unfortunately we did not have time for dessert but they have the classics like tiramisu or panna cotta.
